A problem triggered by our research
People are increasingly distracted by technology, reducing their ability to be present and weakening personal connections. We live in an age of constant distractions.
Although distractions have always been a part of our lives, the rise of mobile technology has created a storm of notifications, making it increasingly difficult to focus amidst the growing noise.
An hourglass that gives back your time
M E T I is a single-purpose tool designed to break the cycle of distractions and bring focus back to your day.
Its shape, reminiscent of an hourglass, not only serves to give meaning to the object: it provides symmetry, so that it can naturally fit left- and right-handed people's hands. An ancient symbol becomes a modern tool. M E T I turns time into a tangible experience.
METI is available in 3 colors: Lavanda, Oceano, Corallo.
Our vision for these colors takes inspiration from nature’s palette. We imagined these hues as gradients, pushing beyond conventional colours.
A packaging that lives beyond unboxing
Packaging is often used for transport and then becomes waste.
Our packaging is different: it makes an essential part of the product. It functions as a stand and allows you to charge it, keeping M E T I always by your side.
Transparent like a block of ice that freezes the product in time and never melts.
“It could have been an app”
No doubt the smartphones are useful but they are a Pandora’s box, full of distractions, always in our pockets.
We decided to design an object that is physically with you and allows you to manage your time intentionally. When M E T I is active, the phone locks for the duration of the session.
We also designed the “shake to pair” interaction to make the first contact with the product natural and effortless, as it should be. One shake, and you’re ready to focus.
Focus on one thing at a time
What usually takes you 3 hours to study can now be done in just 60 minutes, without losing focus.
Create personalized sessions for your favorite activities, starting them whenever you need.
When you're truly focused on something, the rest seems to disappear.
